The project aimed to develop an online tool to assist Solution Architects in accessing dependable Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) data within the organization. This initiative reduces reliance on manual procedures, enhances operational efficiency, and ensures access to verified COTS information.

Problem

Solution Architects faced delays due to fragmented repositories on COTS data and slow turn around due to reliance on Knowledge Managers for data verification, leading to extended delivery time.

Objective

Create an internal repository equipped with verified COTS data and reports and also a search functionality, that helps in a streamlined workflow and enhance operational efficiency for the SAs.

The successful launch of the COTS repository application led

to 85% adoption within the initial pilot group of 50 solution architects, with a 40% reduction in time spent searching for COTS data. Usability testing showed a 95% task success rate,

Launch & Results

Based on this success, the team is now expanding the application to a larger group of 200 COTS members, ensuring scalability and continuous improvements to support future business needs.
